Background
Arjun Auto only started actively trading some 7-8 years ago or so, and was formed solely by "Trip" S. Toor. In the 1980s after finishing University, he sold his rare un-mounted Mint British Stamp Collection that he had carefully nurtured and invested in, during his College Years; to start a National Video Tape (Betamax & VHS) Mail Order Club. As this did not do so well, as local shops started opening everywhere; he opened the 1st of several Video Libraries and then a Wholesale Video Leasing operation to 30-40 other stores. During this time he could afford to indulge in his "hobby" of Classic & Exotic Cars and gained a great deal of experience and knowledge concerning these vehicles, as alternative Investments, coupled with your own enjoyment and pleasure as well!

During this period, certain cars were purchased & sold from all over the World, simply as an interest and an enjoyable pastime. These cars went up astronomically and then came down a smaller portion, and then up again! From the cars that were actually physically collected and sold, as such; the net average yield, upto today's value, would have averaged in excess of 500% to 600% from the mid 90s till now! In just a space of around 14 years or so; a tremendous return on an asset that could be touched, felt and enjoyed immensely as well!

Beginning

The main focus of this business was to sell brand new prestige Marques to order at a substantial discount. In those Year 2000 boom times, certain new model cars from Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari & BMW etc., were in massive demand with very long waiting lists, with virtually no discount available. So from just first advertising in a small 1/16th page "What Car" Magazine Ad; offering unrivalled prices and a promise to "Beat any genuine price----even if it hurts!"; the business started to slowly take off!

From all over UK, Clients would request a quotation & upon acceptance they would sign & fax back our Agreement and Bank Transfer the low subsidised deposit to ourselves. In the majority of cases we would arrange Currency Exchange or offer a FIXED STERLING price, but this aspect was the Client's choice. Uniquely we also offered a "CURRENCY LIMIT ORDER" price,where you could cherry pick whenever you wish, to "Fix" the Exchange Rate; rather than just wait till your Ordered car turned up!

Boom Time!
There was method in this madness, and even though Clients could not quite believe our catch phrases; they purchased very expensive (but discounted), cars from us, in their 100s & 100s! We never personally met 97% of our Clients, as business was all carried out via the Internet, Telephone & the Fax Machine, but it would be rare indeed that anyone would have a real bad word to say about us. Business was always conducted with Honesty & complete Integrity, which resulted in many Clients sending unsolicited "Thank You" Cards; letters of gratitude and even gifts! Such was our Clients' appreciation of our services, that it even surprised ourselves!

Toor knew this would be a "Master Blaster" car for the Masses, so started a massive Advert campaign, which resulted in the highest new sales figures for just this Model, from any single person operated outlet! The profit per Type R was low, but the sales numbers were high! The Advert slogan that was run & thought of solely by "Trip" simply stated:-

For a 12 month period around 2004-5 we held the world record for the number of brand new X5Ds & M3s on Order & Delivered from 1 single outlet! Amazingly clients were unaware that only 1 single person was running the entire operation! Prior to this we had delivered new sought after SL500 models within just 8 months from Order, when the average UK Dealer was quoting 4-5 Year wait!!!!! We are believed to have sold the 1st Estoril Blue X5D in UK & also one of the 1st Estoril Blue 4.8iS.

We were 1 of the highest sellers in Europe for the new model Mercedes CLK Cabriolet & SLK, from 1 outlet, in their 1st Year of release. In 2007 we were 1 of the top sellers for the new BMW 3 series Hardtop Cabriolet.

Bad Times

Throughout 2008 the value of the Euro & the US Dollar has steamed ahead of Sterling; obliterating any Savings to be had by buying from Europe and USA.
